Install notes

The builds are not code-signed yet, so the operating system may ask for confirmation.

Windows SmartScreen

If SmartScreen appears, choose More info → Run anyway. The installer is published on GitHub Releases by our CI.

macOS Gatekeeper

Right-click OpenBurn.app and choose Open the first time. If macOS still blocks it, remove the quarantine flag:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/OpenBurn.app

Linux AppImage

Make the file executable and run it:

chmod +x OpenBurn-*.AppImage
./OpenBurn-*.AppImage

Linux Flatpak

The manifest and offline sources live in the repository. Flathub publication is pending review, so building it locally is the current option.

Build from source

Node.js 22.22+ and npm 10+ are required.

The last command produces an AppImage, NSIS installer or DMG with electron-builder.

git clone https://github.com/SJLS27/openburn.git
cd openburn
npm install
npm run dev:electron
npm run build:app
